Hatchet 3 movie analysis (by Decker Shado)

Wiki Article

Hatchet 3 is the 2013 horror film of the Hatchet series. It follows the ongoing adventures of Victor Crowley's adventures in Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp, as well as his brutal murderous rampage. Kane Hodder stars as Victor Crowley, Brian Quinn plays Deputy Winslow and Rileah Vanderbilt is Misty.

The film's special effects are the film's biggest strengths. Hatchet 3 is a modern horror film that relies heavily on CG effects. Hatchet 3 focuses mainly on practical makeup effects as well as sets. This results in some truly horrifying scenes.

The cast gives a solid performance, with Kane Hodder being the most intimidating villain. The dialogue is hilarious and clever enough to make it feel like a slasher movie from the 80s. There are moments of humor in the movie Hatchet 3 Decker Shado which add humour to bloody action.

Unfortunately, due to the limited budget (reportedly only $1 million) most of the locations are re-used from previous films in the series. The identical boat house was used twice in the film and a lot of the film feels like it's been recycled from previous films in the franchise. This can make it seem like it's all too familiar at times especially for people who've already watched Hatchet or Hatchet 2

Overall, I enjoyed Hatchet 3 even though it felt very similar to prior installments in the series. It also offered plenty of gory thrills and some entertaining performances by the actors.
